Here is a little information on the Association of Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN). This is a consortium of far left special interest groups. They have been trained in the "Saul a Linsky" radical activist school, like the weather underground's Bill Ayers. Any method is acceptable to achieve their notion of "social justice", including voter fraud. Because their views are fringe and will never be supported by a majority, democracy is their enemy. I guess it's good that Washington State convicted 5 ACORN people for 1,800 made up voters, but one would have to be pretty naive to believe that was the total extent of the fraud in 2006 and not the tip of the iceberg.
It is also appalling to me that most people have not heard about these fraudulent acts, because the "Main Stream Media" hides the reports in the back pages. If Republicans were involved, the press would be outraged, Congressional Hearings would have been called, we would hear every fact, and then some, for months and months and months. It's hard enough to get citizens out to vote, but when the Democrats have supporters willing to subvert the voting process, and the press looks the other way, it is only a matter of time before our democracy is taken away. It should anger every honest voter, that in these times of paper thin elections, our votes may be negated by election cheaters.
Now consider this: ACORN is a major contributor to the left most Democrat Party candidates and spent a lot of time, money and energy to try to unseat the moderate Democrat, Senator Joe Lieberman of Connecticut. Now the Dems., under Nancy Pelosi and Barney Franks, are trying to slip a provision into the Banking System “shore up plan” that would transfer 500 million US Treasury dollars to ACORN, ostensively for low income housing. To be sure, half a billion dollars is a lot of money and some of it would obviously go to its housing purpose, but don't think for a minute millions of these tax payer dollars, would not be held back to support the elections of the leftist Democrats that appropriated them. Let’s hope our Financial Institutions receive as good insurance.
It’s a good deal, right now, for the Democrats to have a group like ACORN working behind the scenes for them. They launder political contributions from tax sources through ACORN and ACORN gives the Democrats plausible deniability, when voter fraud is discovered. There is one thing Democrats should consider carefully, however. ACORN is a lose collection of anarchists and socialists vying for power. It is not a democratic group and they are just using the Democrat Party, right now, for legitimacy and political cover. Once they achieve their immediate goal of weakening the laws protecting our democracy, they will take over the Democrat Party from within and be well positioned to achieve their ultimate goal of dismantling the USA, also from within.
